Faith is the only thing we can have.

I remember what Albert Einstein said,
"There are only two ways to live.. one is as though nothing is a miracle .. the other is as if everything is."
We people only live in two ways and that is believing in miracles or having faith with God. I know that every human believe in faith to God. As we tackled English Literature, I encountered many poems written by different poets. Other poetry was already familiar to me but then others were not. The poem that give me an impact to my heart was "On His Blindness" by John Milton. The poem is well-written. Even though there are words that are unfamiliar and hard to understand but still the message of the poem was there because you can easily gets the message of John Milton.
The poem talks about faith and hope of a person. We all know that nobody's perfect. Only God is perfect. Everyone can relate to the poem because the writer itself is not perfect like everybody. The author shows that he don't loose hope even though he is not perfect. As a human, I already faced many problems and now I am facing another problem in my life because one of the special important in my life was already dead. Now, I need to face my life without her. Faith and hope are the only things I can gave right now. Faith will be my guiding light through the darkness I am facing right now. God give me this problem because He knows that I can faced it. I'll just continue praying and believing in myself that God is always there to guide me.

Isn't it wonderful to write our feelings and emotions through poetry?... We can tell what we want to tell with others without any limitations, we can share our insights on every situations, we can talk to anyone even to ourselves through writings and we can be as we wanted to be.. At first, poetry seems to be a little bit boring to me because honestly speaking, some of the poems that I've read is I think... hard to comprehend even hard to beleive because you always have to read beyond the lines. Ika nga nila, "Ang hirap arukin", tama naman 'di ba?... But as the days past of having been studied some of the most famous poems in the world, I realized how colorful and unique poetry is...I really inspired to the work of John Milton entitled,"on His Blindness", I love how this poem was written, how it is being interpreted, and what is the real message behind those words. It struck my heart because it says that even though we have lots of problems in our life' God is always thereto help and guide us through ups and downs. He gave us problems not to test our capabilities but to teach us how to be strong enough to face the different hindrances that life was offering. I beleive that through this poem, God is always good. as Santino's always qouted "Wag tayong mawalan ng pag-asa andiyan lang si Bro".

There are lots of moments in our lives that we feel vanished, abandoned and ignored especially during the venture. As one of the student of world literature I like the poem entitled "On His Blindness" by John Milton which expressed his grief and misfortune yet still coupled with hope. Sometimes I asked God why He made my life desperate because of the problems and challenges yet I am not loosing hope but gain more faith on Hos as one of his creation. Every year counts, every hour is important, every minute is valuable and every second giver an informing day.

The poetry that i like the most is the SONNET 18. It describes the beauty like the everlasting love that never dies, though it fades still the beauty is there. Love is how it use words to compare beauty to a summers day. How he focus to only one thought and how the poems idea flow and sooth to the mind. How the beauty shines and lost it's glow. At first it was hard for me to comprehend, I thought it was about love, I was wrong because it was beauty.

True Love

I feel in-love when I read the poem entitled "A Red Red Rose" by Robert Burns. It is one if the best known romantic poems. In this poem, it tells that if you truely love a person you will do everything in the name of love. You will take and face all the risks just for your loved one and the love you'll give to someone will surely last forever. You will love that person no matter what happens. Loving someone and being loved is the happiest feeling you'll ever feel. It is really good to feel in-love especially if it is true love. You'll know if you love a person without anything in return and true love is not selfish. I realized, instead it is a love that will last forever. So true love can also wait for eternity.

Grow Old With You...

Usually, I got really inspired and excited whenever the topic is about LOVE. But I realized that, when there are so many things you wanted to write you'd end up with a blank paper. I couldn't find the right words to express how I felt by the time I read Sonnet 116. For me, Shakespeare just gave the definition of love perfectly. And thinking really made me tired and irritated so I turned on the radio. ( Loves na love parin kita, kahit bungi bungi ka na, para sa akin ikaw parin, ang pinakagwapong papa, O kay sarap isipin, Kasama kang tumanda...) I smiled while singing this line. I finally got the inspiration to write.

I kept thinking about the mystery of love, seeing old couples still deeply in love with each other could make me sigh, wishing and praying that I, too could find someone whom I could start my forever with. A dose of love could make you high, more than any drugs could do. Love could make you do things that are beyond your imagination. It could make you numb, could make you dumb, and could make you the most stupid person that ever lives. It could inspire you, and make you sing even you are out of tune; it could turned a devil into an angel or vice versa. And as we grow old, we would realize that it is true love that never fades, like Shakespeare said on his Sonnet 116, "Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom". One thing is for sure, we cant live without love, because Love is God...

God is Great!!!

On His Blindness by John Milton is the most I liked poem among the poem we've discussed on the past few weeks. It fascinated me. In this poem it tells that even we have a disability it is not burden for us to pursue or to use our talent and we should not be afraid to what we want because God is always with us He is always their for us to give help. We should just have a strong faith to God and lots of patience. And of course if we have a disability we should not question God for our misfortune. So, this poem makes me realized that I should not hide my talent given by God instead I should enhance it and use it to make my life complete. We should not afraid to take some risk to show our talent to others because nothing is impossible with God, He will surely guide us and help us to survive in our daily living because God love us no matter what happen He will be always their for His child. And lastly we should always pray to God and give thanks to Him.

Jesus is our savior

Everyone of us has a right to live. This is the one that symbolize the poem "On His Blindness" by John Milton. We are all created by God, but not everyone is perfectly fit. We don't have a feel a self pity or shyness with our self just because we are born with such incompleteness.God has a purpose why he made us like that. It's a reflection of our life, the barrier are the obstacles in our life to reach our goals.

The only thing hat we must have is the strong faith in God, fearing and the continuous loving for God. This is our armor and shield to continue on living. We don't need to questioned God for such incompleteness because I know He have a good plan, just leave it on him. The important thing is he will lead us into a right way and he will be our savior, no matter what happen.

God's purpose

English literature includes many famous literary figures like writers, poets, novelist and dramatists together with their great and remarkable literary pieces. Among the literary works we've studied, I like the work of John Milton entitled "On His Blindness" the crowning glory of Puritan period. I really appreciate the message he wants to portray and to share among the readers. It teaches us that in every problem we're facing, we should be positive because God will not give us problem without purpose- purpose that can help us to be strong ang great person.

HEART-CAPTURING PIECE

I am very much fascinated by the writings we have shared with, but the one which inspired and blessed me most is the piece written by John Milton which is entitled "ON HIS BLINDNESS". It has revealed there that John Milton is a very God-fearing person despite of being blind.
He has instilled to me that whatever battles I'm facing just always bring the most powerful weapon, FAITH together with trust, love, hope and patience. I am so blessed by him and by his piece because he reminded me that if struggles make me down and when it feels like no one cares and no one is there, CHEER UP,PRAY!God is here! Have faith and trust his will because everything has a purpose and he knows what is best and when is the right time just be patient enough to wait and see that everything falls into order. God answers our prayers in three ways: YES, NO, WAIT. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HIM!HE IS THE MOST POWERFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS!
John Milton despite of his struggles on blindness able to glorify God and able to inspire and blessed his readers how much more those persons who are physically able and who can witness the beauty of his creations? GOD LOVES US! Be strong!Don't lose hope, stand still and never give up!

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

I have different poems written by different known and unknown authors. But if we will just be talking about the poems that we had discussed, there's really a lot of amazing and inspirational things that I've learned from it. One of the poems that I liked best is the poem written by Robert Frost which is entitled "The Road Not Taken".

I think that the poem is about the decisions in life that we must face. The two roads are the choices, wherein we only have to select one. And that we have to work things out in our own way. We have to make and stand for our decisions in life for us to grow. Because nothing will happen if won’t try to work things out on our own way. We are the one who are responsible for the things that’s happening in our life. It doesn’t matter which way we may take because we will all arrive at the same location, some just sooner than others. We all arrive by different routes, none of them right, none of them wrong, just different. We all have to make our own way through life. So this poem really inspires me on how to make proper decisions in life and made me see things the way God want me to see it.

highwayman

This poem is very interesting one. For a lover's, it is a good example for them to realize what true love is.
When our teacher ask to our other classmates to recite it in front with right blending of voice, i was so amazed because i heard it good to hear. So now, I learned that reciting a poem is not easy, you must consider the sense of the poem.
If you will read this poem be sure that you are interested. So that you can feel the sense of the story then you can relate with it. . It is also good for the long distance relationship, because even Highwayman is not permanently visiting to Bess, still Bess keeps on waiting for him. I love also the the part when Bess was accidentally raped by two men because she keeps on waiting for highwayman before she killed herself.
When they both died, they kept on saying their promises. Very inspiring.!!

Eternity of Beauty

Summer is definitely a lovely and pleasant season but it's really nice to figure it out its splendor of how can it be compared to the beauty of a woman and the poem that I preferred most is the Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare. The sweet twist of the poem's romance truly appeared when you blend it with a lovely background music while reading it. What makes me truly impressed is the brilliance of love that the poem possesses because the man there had deeply felt an exceptional love and eternal admiration to a woman. No matter how old the woman gets, still she will be always beautiful in the man's eyes. I thought it's not only the man's eyes that see the everlasting beauty of the woman but it's also his heart that has the secret nerves to feel the vibration of the woman's real beauty.
In my own outlook, I would say that physical appearance merely captures one's attention because it only serves as a gateway to enter the exciting road of journey of what we call "love" and it's the personality which truly captures one person's heart because it sculpts the masterpiece of the true essence of beauty which can't be seen nor touched but it must be felt within our heart. It is in our will of how can we prolong and treasure the beauty of someone that we love throughout our sentiments.

SHE WALKS IN BEAUTY

In she walks in beauty, Lord Byron, self expresses his personal view of beauty in woman. I love this poem because the message is so deep.It all depends on how you look at it. There is the respect a man is showing for a young woman who has incredible restraint and grace. He speaks about her inner beauty as if it were the most wonderful thing in the world. Byron is doing nothing more than capturing the essence of his cousin in a way that makes her seem more than life. A beautiful way to describe a person is through a poem, he just makes her even more beautiful. By telling us that her inner beauty is reflected by her outer shell is telling us that though she could be the most hideous creature alive her kindness and gentleness makes her more beautiful than the most beautiful woman in the world.

Have Faith in God

John Milton's On His Blindness was one of his poem that I consider the best, it expressed his grief and misfortune but eventhough he became blind he still trust God. I like this poem, because it gives inspiration to everyone especially to those who were disable person and to those who were losing their hope.
This poem gave me hope and a more strong faith in God. It made me realized that I'm still lucky and I should be thankful to him for giving me a beautiful life that I should't asked Him for the obstacles that He was giving me, because I know that He give me this burden to make me a strong person to face the most heaviest challenge in my life. Having faith in God is our most powerful weapon in our battle.

On His Blindness

As we dicussed about the English Literature, there are lots of poems that really strikes me. The best poem that strikes me is entitle "On His Blindness" by John Milton where it belongs to Puritan Period. It is all about expressing his grief and misfortune yet he still standing with hope. We are here in this world to enjoy life. Eventhough we are facing challenges, problems or struggles we need to face or overcome it. Remember that God gives us some obstacles He knows that we can solve it by our own. Just believe in Him and just have faith in God. This poem make me inspired because as what we have now, we need to accept it. Being blindness is not a hindrance to achieve our wants in life.

INVICTUS

How I wish to God that I want to be as strong as a soldier who is not afraid to fight for what he truly believed. Then I, who is only a little bud of rose but maybe later or sooner I will be bloom and grow, is afraid to face my future. It's not because I am too weak but because I am so afraid to commit mistakes that I would make my family disappointed because through out my entire life my family is always there veryproud of me.
But right after realizing the true meaning of the poem Invictus something inside me comes alive. It is I myself who is now ready to face and continue my walk to reach the gate of my destiny and what ever happened, how heavy the struggles become and number of mistakes I'd done. Here, I am ready to stand again and continue my walks with trust and faith in God.

"when YOU believe"

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 NIV).

John Milton wrote a very inspirational poem entitled" On His Blindness". At first I got confused to the poem, Ithought it is all about a person who questioned God for being blind. But when you interpret it, I realized that eventhough he became blind he is thankful that God created him. He knew that the person who experienced struggles and solve it by his own is the one who most loved by God.

The poem rocks my heart and make me realized that I am so lucky to see his world, the world that he made for us. In his poem many things I've learned, and I will apply it in my own life. God is really good, he will never 'EVER' give us problem that he know that we are not able solve it. We just need to trust him with all our heart and lives. Believing him is the most powerful weapon we have, JUST BELIEVE IN HIM. God will always guide us.

->This poem helps me to be a more God fearing person.

"Groping on Invicible Way......"

Which seems to be the better, the day that reveals everything or the night that hides something? This is the poem that shows the beauty within the darkness. Looking upon the night sky, it was nothing but an eternal darkness. In order to have its light, the heavenly bodies spread into its plain, brighten up the sky; shimmering out into the night. Just like the beauty girl owned, her eyes glow showing the gladness in her heart. Her hair shines when it softly touches by the light. The purity of her heart and the peace that the night has, both give them an everlasting light. This is how the poem makes me feel that it wasn't all about the poem itself. It is how deep the perception reflects towards the it. I didn't get exactly what's the author means in his write- up, so I just write it on some part. Am I away from what you are asking?

God Knows the Best for Us

In all the poem that we tackled, the poem "On His Blindness" is the one which I liked the most because of the message. I really amazed to the author of that poem. Even though he is blind, he wants the reader to encourage and he wants for them to be strong in their faith to the Lord. Many times people lost their hope because of problems, trials and challenges in life but they never realized that they are blessed because they have no problem physically. They can see, they can walk and all the ability of human they can do. People should know that God knows the best for us, he cannot give us problems that heavier than we can carry. Sometimes we always questioned God but the truth is all things work together for good. All things have a purpose and that is the best for us, just trust God.. This poem really gave me an encouragement to continue and to be strong in life..

Everynight, I prefer to look at the sky to watch the stars above. I guess thats my personality, definitely I love night more than I love days. . Actually even my self cant explain how weird my thoughts and feelings are. . but when the time comes that I dont have someone to lean on, I just simply look at the stars and and feel their presence and ambience together with me. . One peice of poetry in our subject caught ny attention (She walks in beauty by Lord Bylon) I was mesmerized by the lyrics and meaning of it. . Well I dont believe that darkness symbolize sorrow . . just like the other people says, "black is beauty".. we just need to appreciate it, like the night. . The beauty of one thing is not in the physical aspect but on how you value and appreciate it. .

An Inspiration For Me

Like every young woman, I also love to read poems about love and romance. But I decided to choose the poem "On His Blindness" as my most favorite one, simply because with my situation, what i need most right now are inspirations and this poem serves as an inspiration to everyone who read it and for those who are about to read it.
It inspires me because his blindness did not become a hindrance for him but instead he uses his exceptional talent to prove that disabled persons can do some things that normal ones cannot. But it's not only inspirations that it serves, it also made me realize about the importance of being a normal and a whole.
Well, I will not say that I'm a whole because I know in myself that there is still something missing in me and I'm still looking for it. But even though I'm not whole, I am normal. Normal in a sense that i don't have any part of my body that is missing.
I am very amazed to God the way He plan for our lives. Truly that there are disabled ones that are questioning God for their grief, sufferings and misfortune, but its still good to know that most of them realized that if God take away something from us, He will give us more than what we loose. And so, I'm very thankful to Him that even though I have a low vision, He gave me talents that I'm very great full of and i will value 'till my last breathe.

Special Flower

The poem of A Red Red Rose is about the love of a man to a woman that would never last. The writer compares his love to red rose, just like a special flower that blooms and it was really beautiful to imagine. When a person is in love he can make his day a beautiful day and for him impossible can be possible. It also shows how deep is the love of a man to a woman, that whatever happens his love for the woman will still there and it will never change and fade and even if time and place is against to their love, he will fight for the girl, just to show his everlasting love. And even if they have departed their ways the man still make a way to see the woman.

Authentic Nostalgic Story

For the past few weeks, we had tackled all about poems and stories but the most interesting for me was the story of "A Rose for Emily". It is a complex story like, evokes complex reactions. The story is depressing in that Emily lives alone in decrepit house, locked away from the rest of the world for many years. It would be all to easy, however, to condemn her for the disturbing murder of Homer Barron, or to say that the story as a whole is just a disgusting tale of a woman gone mad. Instead, Faulkner weaves all kinds of subtleties into the narrative, like Emily's troubled relationship with her father, that make me have a more nuanced reaction to the story.

Roses need not be literally spoken of to have power. Think of roses and their various roles in human life. Roses are often present at weddings, a promise of love despite hardship, the combination of pain and beauty. However, roses because of their strong odor, are also used in funeral homes to cover the stench of decay. Emily tries hard to be something she is not young, engaging, marriageable. The covering of stench could be applied to a variety of characters; the town in its neglect of one of its own, Emily in covering the death of her lover, the dead flowers symbolic of Homer's apparently neglected promise. It has been traditional for brides and lovers to press and preserve roses. The rose of the title then, may symbolize Emily's stagnant dreams for a life with Homer. Or, one could view the rose as the narrator's offer of friendship, extended too late. Like a clipped rose, life itself is short and once it is gone, the rose can never be restored to its previous glory. In this story presents, a powerful argument that privilege can sometimes be a prison which love can do to the people even if they don't know what is right and wrong when you feel that your in love.

:)

God has given each of us different kinds of talents which we must not just take it for granted. We have our own differences regarding to our abilities which we can show to others or something that we can be proud of. Although not all of us had given those wonderful talents, we, as one of God's creation must appreciate it somehow.
Being a pessimist, I still have the patience and understanding into my life's direction. John Milton's "On His Blindness" is the one I adore since we discussed some kind of poetry. Aside from it expresses misfortune, still, full of hope is there. We all know that having disabilities is not that easy, but reflecting to the work of Milton, even though the said man is blind, he is not exempted on showing his skills to anyone. Because everyone is God's creation and we all have the right to use it especially in a positive way. It also showed great perseverance that he, as a person who's not capable in seeing should be strong and must filled with hope and joy. Because I really believe that those who have faith in God deserves to be given much love by the people who standstill with them.

The poem that so remarkable for me was ON HIS BLINDNESS by Milton..
By reading this poem my mind was enlighten and become aware to those people who are suffer or facing an abnormality or disability.

This poem implied that should you look at the brighter side that you have than to make yourself more useless in having disability, you improve yourself and feel that you are more useful than other. Just trust yourself, be strong in every challenges or problems that you take, face it with confidence. Don't give up because it is only a test given by God that may strengthen your personality and also to recognize what is your weaknesses. Trust God, have more faith with him because he will not leave you at the center of the road of darkness otherwise he will guide you until you reach your final destination, be with God....

Invictus

William Ernest Henley the author of the poem "Invictus" he suffered from a disease leg (tuberculosis of the bone). This poem served as a way to keep his soul strong and to continue the fight to dominate his debilitating medical problem. Eventually his leg was amputated and it was his memory of this event that served as the inspiration for his poem.

This is my favorite poem because it is the reflection of the author's feelings about illness as in the first stanza he expresses how unwell he feels and compares his health to the darkness of night and a black pit. Henley refers to his misfortune or in other words his "bad times" as simply something that happens and he has remained strong and confident by not showing his pain by crying out aloud. He even refers to the afterlife. Once he has passed away he will be beyond the anger and tears, he relates to his life after death as a a gloomy, dark or a faint place between the living and the dead and states that even though he faces the "Horror of the shade", he is unafraid despite the danger or threat of his former years of life . According to the author's beliefs he concludes that no matter how a person lives his life, good or bad, a man is his own God and can manage his own destiny without any need of instruction from creator.

From this poem I learned that we are the creator of our destiny, even though we meet our downfalls, we still control the outcome by how we react or respond to that downfall..."Life is simple, we just make it complicated".

The poetry "On his Blindness" by John Milton was very inspiring for those people who have disability or abnormality and even don't have, because his poetry express the grief and misfortune but still show hope in life. The poetry tell us that even if a person have physical or mental problem they can still continuing their life and pursuing his own dreams. It also tell us that we don't have right to questioning God the way we always do, because he has a plan for each of us, and we just need to trust him.

In my own interpretation at the last line that the person who will solve their own problem have to be patience, have faith in God and full of hope. And it makes me realize one thing, we just need to trust God 100% like the blind in the poetry because even if he know that half of his life is in the dark world, he continue his journey and never stop believing to himself. He never hide his talent instead showing to the people that he also have a purpose in this world, that problem was nothing and use it as an inspiration.

Remarkable Poem

The poem entitled "On His Blindness" touched my mind, heart, and soul after we discussed it. Indeed this is the best poem that i have read not only because John Milton wrote it in artistic way. I liked it in the way that I easily relate my self to the poem as well as to its author. Like him I also a person, wherein sometimes i accidentally questioning God's will in the times of my predicaments. Despite of these God has been benevolent in giving me a couple of hope and he makes me realized that everything happened for reasons. He wants our whole patience and strong faith in him. Remember that God makes all the impossible possible. Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work with our God wholeheartedly. Through this I felt more appreciation in poetry. I realized that the beauty of poetry seems elusive for those people who never appreciate it. Then now i will grab the opportunities to continue my journey to know, appreciate, and acknowledge more literary pieces because I realized Its a blessings from our God.

INVICTUS

When I have read different poems from different eras or periods I felt the emotions of those authors who wrote the literary articles. Some of those poems touched my feelings especially if we read them wholeheartedly. "INVICTUS" by William Ernest Henley is the one that I will always remember because it gave me a lesson. It taught me to be stronger.

In every problem there's always a solution, we should not lose hope. If we have a problem, we must seek the guidance of our GOD; face whatever that problem is; and trust ourselves 'coz we are the one we will solve it.

I really appreciate the writings I've read from different Eras. Those writings touched our feelings and also, they taught us different things.

I am expecting that I will learn more as we go through another topics and lessons.

INVICTUS by William Ernest Henley

I'am the Captain of My Soul!!!!! But still GOD is the Director of my Life!!!!!!!!

In this past few weeks and until now we encounter lots of literary work, liked poem, of all the poem we've read and discuss "INVICTUS" by William Ernest Henley is my favorite.

My Interpretation!!!!

On the first stanza of Invictus, as I understand while I'm reading this it tells how sorrowful and sadness of a life, but despite of this we should be grateful and thankful to our God and we we don't have any rights to question Him for giving us a problem because He want us to become a strong person.

While on the second stanza it tells that circumstance in our life may bring tears to us because of our destiny but even though were having a hard situation we should still to stand straight and be strong.

Then on the third stanza even we are suffering and we feel the sadness in our life we should not be afraid to face our problems.

Lastly, it is not matter for us for whatever punishment maybe given to us the important is we are the one who makes our own decision and we are the who makes our destiny.

My Reaction!!!

This poem I like most, serves to me as an inspiration to stand on my own decision and makes my destiny because no one can ever make my destiny as I could.
It also makes me realized that I should not ask God for giving me such problem that I think I can't able to solve, but not now because I do believe He give that problem to me because God know that I can get through with it.

"On His Blindness"

I was sitting near the window of our house, when I saw a man looking on his window too, he was my neighbor and he was blind because of an illness.I was staring at him and wondering what's on his mind, what he was thinking and on his age did he ever questioned God on what he was? With that questioned I realized how lucky and fortunate I was. There's so many people who doesn't have and doesn't receive the different gifts that I have, the sight, the hearing, the completeness of my body parts but others are not lucky to have it. They are suffering from the incompleteness that they possess, they are longing and dreaming that someday they will experience what a normal people can do.

But life doesn't end in that way just because you are disabled. Being disabled is not an hindrance to achieve what you want but rather it is an inspiration to pursue and to fight in every obstacles.Just learn to fight and strongly believe in God because it happened for a reason and only God knows it.. Learn to wait and to be patient and never and ever questioned God on what incompleteness do you have. Behind those incompleteness we have lot of things to do rather than blaming other people. Be proud that you are like that, you are still breathing and still alive than those who doesn't experience and doesn't given the chance to see the world. Just remember this "you are absolutely unique just like everyone else".

on his blindness

I know quite certainly that I myself have no special talent, curiosity, obsession and dogged endurance, combined with self-criticis, have brought me to my ideas. By Albert Einstein

I'am proud to those who have disabilities in life with many talent. I have a aunt with disablity she is bind but I'am proun to her. She do a lot of things like the household chores like sweaping the floor, washing clothes and plates, and cooking foods. Through this I can say my aunt have many talents. And I' am proud to my aunt, because she can know the amount of the money. But my aunt died a years ago. She is my inspiration!

Like also the poem of John Milton entitled On His Blindness a man has a talent which is writng but he is a blind already. Even though he is blind he is not giving up. He keep on writing and persuing his dream. It is our inspiration especially to those person who are losing thier hope in life. Don't give up, because God is always there to help us. Disability is not an excuse to achieve our dream in life.

Just Believe!!!

Poetry is one of the topics in literature and always been a part of it. Interpretation is the key to understand and to discover the beauty of literature as well as poetry.
On His Blindness by John Milton teaches me how to value all the blessings that I have now and made me realize how lucky I am. The poem is all about the talented poet who questioning God because of his blindness but despite on his condition he didn't stop to use his talent instead he pursue on writing beautiful poems which teaches readers. He did not let his condition to stop him from believing because he knew that there is God above watching us and ready to give blessings and guidance. That no matter what happens he can see through God's grace.
After reading and interpreting the poem I understand what the author wants to say. I realize that God give us challenges not only because He knows our capabilities but He wants us also to learn one important thing in life - FAITH. Having faith in God is very important because with Him I know we can overcome all the trials that we are facing. If we don't get what we are wishing for now it doesn't mean that we can't have it anymore all we need to do is just believe and wait for the right time. Just believe in our self and especially in Him and all your wish will be yours. See? Poetry is literature and literature is a teacher and I learned in poetry. So I think I am correct when I say literature is a great teacher, just believe.

the highwayman

"Even if the two persons love each other, if they were not meant to be, destiny will always part their ways". This phrase were really true on the narrative poem of the famous writer Alfred Noyes, entitled, "The Highwayman".

It is said that true love conquers all. But what if destiny played with the two souls fighting for their love? It is also said that sometimes their is no happy ending. Like in the story of "Bess and The Highwayman", before their love bloomed, destiny gave way for their love to be broken. This narrative poem was really a good story, even though it has a tragic ending.

But we should know that love has many definitions that no one can define...

"compassionate soul"

There are lots of poems inspired me as a youth in pursuing my goals and ambitions...in continuing my struggles despite of the difficulties in life. I considered it as a challenges to make things better and to know my purpose as a person. However, there are things that I can't control, especially my emotions that convey into questioning God why this things are happening to me? There are times that I became depth or sometimes blind...
"On His Blindness" by John Milton, really caught my mind and my heart. After reading that I reallized that every part of me has a purpose. "Talent" was one of the best gift I"ve ever received from Him. It made myself complete and contented. I've learned that when hurting times come, I must rise up with strength and determination to fulfill my dreams. It also inspires me to have a positive outlook in life and hopes for a better future ahead. By this I learned to value and unconditionally accept myself and others the way we are. Today I will make a habit of perceiving all persons, including myself, as beautiful, as we are. I will continually give of the living love that I am and quickly reopen my heart each time it closes.(harhar!!!)

this fall, our vision of the world will change.! Don't lose hope.! God is our light!!!

There is no point in lamenting or complaining about our short comings in our life. For, God does not need any of our service or want anything from us as He infinitely self-sufficient and self-reliant ever! Talented or not, bright or blind is our duty to the best we can to prove our mettle before him being worthy of ourselves being His creations! It is Milton's best example for those people especially those who does not have sight! And his intellectual analysis and resolution that made him noble and great! This is a great reminder for us! This is the way we can feel that we are equal to God!

Disabilities Is Not An Excuse To Show Your talent

I am thankful to God and I am lucky because I'm here and I live here on his own world. But sometimes, when every challenges to come in my life, I always asking to God, why are you giving me this kind of trial(s)?, sometimes, I am losing hope and I lessen my self confidence, but I know also God has a reason why he giving me trials because he knows, I can. Like I read the poem entitled "On His Blindness" by John Milton, I appreciated this because even he is blind, he can show his talent in writing poem, he doesn't lose hope and he has self confidence. I am lucky also because I'm not blind but i can't write the poem like him, but I have my own talent that I have showing this to the people. I've learned this poem that disabilities is not an excuse to show your talent. If you have a talent show it don't hide it, because sometimes, our talent gives happiness and joy to the people and sometimes, talent is a key of success and key to be popular.

HOPELESS in summer day.....

In English literature we tackled different poems came from different period and era. Sonnet 18 by William Shakespeare is the most I really like in all those poems. It gives a big impact on me because the summer day is the time that I became hopeless. Hopeless because of one reason that until now I cant accept it. Like in sonnet 18 my love was everlasting and I still believing that someday I can smile widely and I can free my self from pain. As I read the sonnet 18 I remembered those things that happened on me on summer day. I know I cant stop the changes in our life but no matter what happen my love will never end because it is everlasting love. By sonnet 18 I found out that it was romantic to listen when it accompanied by music by that we can enjoy the whole time that we listen the poem.

trials, disappoinments--all these are are helps instead of hindrances, if one uses them rightly

,..they not only test the fiber of character but strengthen it. Every trial endured and weathered in the right spirit makes a soul nobler and stronger than it was before. That's what I've learned after reading the piece "On His Blindness" by John Milton. This piece is a Petrarchan sonnet, a lyric poem with fourteen lines. This type of sonnet, popularized by the Italian priest Petrarch (1304-1374), has a rhyme scheme of ABBA, ABBA, CDE, and CDE. John Milton wrote the poem in 1655. The Theme: God judges humans on whether they labor for Him to the best of their ability. For example, if one carpenter can make only two chairs a day and another carpenter can make five, they both serve God equally well if the first carpenter makes his two chairs and the second makes his five. If one carpenter becomes severely disabled and cannot make even a single chair, he remains worthy in the sight of God. For, as Milton says in the last line of the poem, "they also serve who only stand and wait." There's this what we called " The unconditional love of God to us..that God loves us and accepts us the way we are, but He loves us too much to let us stay that way. That were our ultimate reason for hope. God is on us side. He wants to fill our hearts with his love, banish our limitations, and wash away the plague of negative thoughts from our minds. God’s love carries away our burden of guilt. His love not only wipes the slate clean, it also throws the slate away. God has a plan for our lives that are better than anything we can imagine. There is no limit to how good our lives can become when we max out on the power of his love.

..so, never let the fear of striking out get in your way!

The poem that strikes my heart is the Sonnet 18 written by William Shakespeare. I like the Sonnet 18 because the love of the boy for the girl is everlasting. " On His Blindness" by John Milton tells that our God's love is endless even though there are some instances that wherein we are asking God why do we need to experience the things which became our weakness to face our daily lives but it can be answered by him if we have the patience to wait it for the right time. Being disabled is one of the things that most of us are asking why God given into us.
