Studying the literature of our own country is good,where in here we can read many stories and recite more literary pieces.But I guess, studying the literature of other country as well as the literature of the world can also give us more information and can add knowledge about other literary pieces.

We discussed many topics on previous week; The literature itself, its meaning,definition,its function strike me. It enlightens my mind about its importance and value to our lives. Ever since, figure of speech is not easy to understand- it is the topic which is not clear to me,. But I must say, all in all, studying and knowing literature is really interesting, knowledgeable and enjoyable.

It is not the first time that i encounter the subject Literature. i met Mr. Literature1 when i was 2nd year during first semester. now, i met Mr. Literature 2 the broader of Mr. Literature1. Literature is all about Literature of the world. What strike to me about Literature was the classification of Literature is prose. it opened my eyes to a different world of Literature , a dimension of info that tickles my mind and a bucket of emotion and experiences that really thrills me read and to know.

I must admit that Literature is really hard especially that I know in myself that I hate reading books nor fond of watching movies.
For me, all the topics we tackled are "nose bleeding" but the one most striking to me is that about poetry. Its indeed difficult to understand the thought of a poem. Little by little I became interested and even learned more about poetry including its famous pieces and authors like Ode to the West Wind by Percey Bysshe Shelley and Sonnet 116 by William Shakespeare. For 2-weeks discussion I did Learn more about Literature of the World and I am still expecting to know more and more about it and even transformed me into a keen and wide reader.

I am a marketing student, and I am used to a corporate world, where things just have to be direct and bold. Hearing the word literature at first, makes me yawn or sigh, but who would not be fascinated by poetry and novels taught by Sir Guinto? Maybe its a sin not to care for books cause I am not really fond of reading them but I was touched by the beauty and utmost meanings of the poetries we had encountered this past two weeks. Who could have taught it could be written in such ways? Now I envy those persons who have travel far just by turning the pages of the authors experiences. And as I met literature maybe I could sit for a while and have the chance to go deeper, I expect more excitement to this journey and how far literature could take me.

I'm not fond of reading books but when our teacher started to teach about Literature of the World I began to appreciated and started to be interested. I really love to read stories especially poems. This is one of my hobbies, it inspires me to be more meaningful what life is. I discover a new story that I can relate to my life. I quietly listened to him and seriously looking at him then I noticed my other classmates also starring with him. While staying in this land "the world of literature", one thing caught my attention, the work of art by William Shakespeare, a poem entitled "sonnet 116''.

First, it was really hard for me to understand the meaning of the poem. But when you paraphrased it, I enjoyed reading it. I've realized that we should analyzed the literary piece we are reading to have a better and deeper understanding about it. Through reading we are able to gain knowledge and information, we don't need money and baggage to avail this. IT'S FOR FREE, GRAB IT!!!

It strikes me a lot because when I was writing some article before I didn't consider other people who will be the reader of my write-ups. I realize that I should consider many things like of the appeal of my work, the knowledge and emotion that it can give to the reader. It says that a good literature is one which transcend time. And by that I was been encourage to write more creative.

My Enlightening Experience

Of two weeks of discussion about literature, I find it interesting to know more about it.
I have read a lot of writings already and I appreciated them because of the authors ability of creating such beautiful writings. But even though i have read a lot already, I still don't consider myself as a reader because i just read when I'm in the mood or I have nothing else to do. Until we tackled about literature, the authors, their writings, and that their writings are from their experience. From then, I now understand more about it, and I'm more inspired to read and to know more.
I'm very thankful to Mr. Nicanor Guinto for enlightening my mind to literature and for his perseverance to teach us, even though we bully him at some times, he don't get touchy but instead he just laugh with us.

"Literature" The Journey With the Writers and With "Him" (siR NicK)

It's really good for us to know what's the importance of studying literature and how can we able to define it.

At first i know in myself that i am not that interested in this subject, but my instructor made me attract to this matter. We have so many things discussed in this passed two weeks but i really like most when we talk about the characteristics of literature. I've found out that it is characterized by human experience, which is the heart and soul of literature. I knew that majority of those famous writers use their own experience to write something that will catch the attention of the readers but others used also other people's experience. On the past weeks that we discussed in LIT., I just want to ask, about the story of "Last Leaf" by O.Henry, is it happen on the hospital or in their apartment? Also the plant that you told us, I thought it is a vein not a tree..

Another thing I just want to know is, the ' Superman comics" is it fictional?

In taking this LIT02, I really enjoy in every meeting that we had, because of the learning strategy of our professor..If we are noisy or what sir named us "bully" he always smile at us and he not even get mad at us..
I like the most in this discussion that get my interest in learning is when he teach us about the element of poetry....by getting its rhyme scheme,rhythm, foot, meter,etc...because its really an interesting one...But is it really important to know those elements of poetry in a poem?Or its really depend to the reader of the poem? Because some of the teachers I think they don't know where are the stress or a recurring pattern in every word.

Regarding in this subject, i am thankful to Mr. Nicanor L. Guinto, because I've learn a lot, especially the author and their writings.

"Tragedy"

A tragedy is a kind of prose drama that is characterized by an unhappy ending, sometimes death. I was moved by our topic about the love story of "Romeo and Juliet" popularized by William Shakespeare. It was really a good story, there were many lessons I've learned about the meaning of true love. I really enjoy this topic because it does not only teach me but it also proves that fate has the only right on what will happen in the future.

Feel the Twist of Literature

The topic that deeply fell into my mind is how literature said to be expressive. I truly realized that a poet writes literary pieces not only to make the readers achieve to remember any information about his write ups but also to let himself in showing them the real spirits of emotion that he had felt during he was writing a piece. I have been read lots of stories but I forgot some of their titles. What I remember is the moment where my emotional sensitivity was truly captured by the mood of the story. In that matter, I thought it's easy to forget the text in our mind but it's truly difficult to dismiss it in our heart because what we feel upon reading different write ups stays longer than we are expecting. And it doesn't count most how to think about what you read but it's how you interpret it through your feelings because what makes literature worth reading is how it extremely touches one person's heart and sentiment.
I want to know the principles of a poet in making his piece striking to human's affection.

The Journey to the Lit.......

Narrative poetry specifically the ballad really strikes me a lot. Every time I hear the word ballad, the first thing that often comes in my mind is the poem "The Ballad of a Mother's Heart", this poem states the unconditional love of a mother to her child. Poem for me is very interesting topic, but when it comes about studying its foot, meter, stanza and rhythm I got confused. There were so many topics that we have discussed for the past few weeks. The topic that has been striking my entire life is the study of novel and it's different types. Interpreting a poem

The topic that we discussed for the past weeks and strikes me most is that how to interpret a poem. Why? Because I've learned how to appreciate a literary works like some of the poem written by some of the poet. As I enrolled in this subject, Literature of the World 02, I am thinking of what would be the possible topic that would be discuss to us.

As Mr. Nicky Guinto entered in our classroom, I said to myself that I am pretty sure that I would learned a lot from him.

When our instructor start to discuss Literature 02, I am quite listening. On the first meeting, He discussed about what is literature, the functions of literature and what is the relevance of it. On the first day and also for the following day, I'm not that strike, because he only discussed a simple topic but as we go along with the discussion, and Mr. Guinto discussed the types of novel, it really strikes me, because I thought that it is just simple as I am expecting. There are lots of literary piece and author(nakakalito minsan,hehe).

At first I was not that interested in this subject it makes me think a lot, but after our teacher discussed the following topics that we will going to discussed hmmmmp... I got excited. Our teacher starts our lesson by giving us a brief and different meaning of literature there are many suggestions but almost all fall into one definition. In the past week of our discussion, the definition of literature itself strikes me most because through knowing of its meaning I learned how writers do there works, it is not just created without any basis, I learned how to appreciate literature, its beauty and the emotional appeal that for surely capture the heart of the readers. You may fell as if you are really in the situation because it was based on the authors experience.It is really entertaining that will make you excited . It provides a detailed description of things happen in the given period of time.

Actually, I'm not fond of reading novels. I really hates reading a novel for it takes a longer time for me to finish it.

At first, I thought that it would be a boring discussion but it was not. I was very amazed that novels have different types and our instructor discussed it clearly just only for one meeting. He emphasized the examples of those different types of novel.

Functions and Reflection of Literature in Me.

Studying literature of the world is interesting for me because I learn many things. In our past discussion in literature the topic discussed to us that has been striking in me is the functions of literature because that time I realized that literature is really helpful in my life and in my studies. Sometimes I am not aware that literature is the one which makes me happy and enjoyed through reading of many literary pieces. If I am bored and lonely, reading books helps me to entertain. And some additional information that our teacher discussed is the personality of the author. Through that I remembered some of my personality. It reflects to me because our teacher said that sometimes the author is a loner and he/she wants to be alone. Like me, sometimes I like to be alone rather than to have accompany. I enjoyed being alone and writing in my diary, making essays and being quiet. One of my dream is to become a writer and because of literature I encouraged to enhance my skills in writing. Even though I am not so intelligent about the grammar I want to write and write.

And that is not the end, I have many things that I want to know in studying Literature of the World. I want to know many literary pieces and its author and the message it conveys.

Well, i really enjoy the first two weeks in our subject literature of the world. In just a short time one topic really strikes me, its the function of literature whereas it shows me that literature is not for enjoyment and for pleasure but also to inform me about some matter in life. LITERATURE is Inevitable

Literature is like a human being it has a heart and soul that called experience. Without experience I cannot share my knowledge and create a literary piece. This is the topic in literature discussed in the past week that has been striking to me. Now I have deeper understanding why experience is really important in my life either it is personal, vicarious and contrived. As saying goes by, experience is the best teacher. In other hand I am one of the future teacher and like literature without experience, I can't teach and share knowledge to my future pupils.
Regarding to the literature of the world, I want to know more about famous literary piece in different countries, especially the "Greek and Roman Mythology". Indeed, I want to know their differences, similarities and significance. Literature for me was not a cool subject!! Because i hate reading but now when i encountered so many things that our instructor Mr. Nicky Guinto thought about novels, poems, etc. now i am getting interested in our subject.


The most striking topic that i have ever met was the NOVEL of course isn't it obvious? I really hate memorizing especially names!! But I have to do that because it is part of our subject. When i realized that the subject Literature of the World was interesting and i can get more information about the ephics, history, novels, the authors that came from other countries.

I learned some words that are hard to pronounced like the language of France and some countries. And to be aware when it comes with the spelling.In our two weeks in studying studying the LIT02 was very enjoyable. Especially when we make some noise or bullying our classmate with Sir Nicky..heheh but there still the respect.




I am hoping that even though we have a very short time in studying the LIT02 we will learn a lot..

The most striking part of this subject is memorizing the authors and novels because I have difficulties in term of memorizing names.

I am very fortunate because I belong to the section where Mr. Nicanor Guinto teach. He teach the subject properly and he always relate the topic from other story or novel that he knows. Studying the different types of novel is very interesting. There are several plot of the stories under the different types of novels. As a student, whenever I watch movies I often compare other movies to previous movies that Ive watched. My curiosity begins because I want to know more about the different example of stories of realistic novel,gothic romance,picaresque novel and others. I want to be familiarized about the author and their writings. As I read the different novels there are story that the introduction is the flashback and sometimes the problem or the conflict in the story. Those story and movies having that kind of plot really caught my attention and interest. I know the subject LIT 02 will give me more information and knowledge about the different writings and authors.

In the first two days of the summer class I was absent because of some unexpected circumstances but when our Instructor told me that we will have a guide booklet (Frigate)and told me that the lesson they took is in the booklet, I said to myself that I can read the lesson that they encountered in the past two days.
In this subject,Many people shows there different meanings of literature, how they can affect in our every day life, and shows that this is the passageway of their emotions and experiences.I encountered authors and there literary works.Works that have corresponding types of fictional novels.Sometimes our Instructor tell some COOL FACTS that I love to hear, the one that shocks me is the story of CINDERELLA, this story in not originated from Europe but in CHINA. It keeps me to listen and enjoy our class in every day.
